| Bio: | Name: Eileen Prince Age: 44 Date of Birth: October 25, 1933 Date of Death: May 3, 1977 Bloodline: Pureblood House: Slytherin History: Eileen came from a long line of purebloods and lived a fairly good life from childhood to her earlier years at Hogwarts. She wasn't fond of socializing and kept to herself and her little study group as well, with the occasional gobstones-playing group. She excelled in Potions, Charms and Arithmancy but was very poor in Divination despite initial interest. Apart from that, she was generally a good student. She learned fast and showed some skills in leadership despite her seemingly anti-social nature (she grudgingly accepted to become the captain of the Gobstones Club), displaying a firm and just hand when given a position of authority. Eileen’s family face a difficult ordeal when her parents died some time in her seventh year. She was made to live with her relatives, whose home was very close to the outskirts of the Muggle town of Spinner’s End. Because she did not find her relatives agreeable, she often wandered around to avoid staying inside the house. As there were very few half-bloods in Slytherin and nearly none of them shared or showed their Muggle influence, Spinner’s End fascinated Eileen in that the resourcefulness she found among the Muggles entertained her immensely. Eventually, Eileen met Tobias, who treated her like a peculiar foreigner and was the one who showed and taught her the usual ways of the Muggles. The two married when Eileen was 22, but did not have a child for 3 years. Eileen was afraid that she would bear a wizard or a witch child, as she kept her true identity and lineage from Tobias. Eventually, Tobias grew restless and, afraid that her husband’s discontent would ruin their marriage, Eileen ceased taking the potions that stopped her from conceiving. Severus was born beginning of the year 1960 and began manifesting magical abilities even before his first year. Eileen was able to hide Severus’ abilities until he was 4, although despite her efforts, it was only a matter of time before Tobias became suspicious. He grew aggressive and began drinking. Eileen lost her second child during one of Tobias’ outbursts. Through the years, Eileen spent her time with Severus, teaching him everything she knew. She was pleased that Severus learned quickly as she did not bother selecting what subjects would be appropriate for a child; her favourite subjects were Potions, Charms and theories on the Dark Arts, and those were what she taught her son the most. She felt awkward outside of these lessons as in her mind she knew she was failing as a mother, so she used much of their free time for studies. Tobias grew even madder when Severus left for Hogwarts. He threatened her constantly, but Eileen distracted herself with writing to Severus. Over time she felt a darkness creeping in, both inside her home and out; Tobias was worsening each year and Severus seemed to be in bad company. Severus’ fourth year seemed to be the peak of Tobias’ madness, his confusion and disgust for Eileen and his wizard son along with the influence of alcohol leading him to spit out threats of killing his wife and son. Tobias died of food poisoning before Severus turned 15. Though she attempted to prolong her life for the sake of her son, Eileen died due to complications of her injuries middle of 1977, when Severus was in his seventh year. Character Description Appearance: Tall, thin middle-aged woman with long, lanky black hair and a pallid complexion. She has a thick set of eyebrows that are positioned close to her eyes, making her seem like she’s constantly frowning or thinking about something. She rarely smiles and her expression is rarely welcoming, but she does not try to be purposely unpleasant. Her manner is strong, her movements economical though not very feminine. Friends in life: Any time spent pleasantly in life was spent with her son, Severus. Tobias kept speaking ill of Eileen among the people of their village that they regarded her with suspicion. Enemies: Her husband, Tobias, could be considered an enemy of sorts in the later years of their marriage. Eileen did not spend much time with other people. Love Interests: Married to Tobias Snape and did not remarry until death Likes: Books, earl grey tea, Muggle music (her tastes vary), spending time with her son, pleasant company, gobstones (reminds her of youth, though she no longer plays), big trees with heavy shades Dislikes: Unpleasant memories, unpleasant company, stupidity, incompetence Strengths: Strong and independent, Eileen would not easily bend to the will of others. She has her own way of seeing the world and she never hesitates to the defend those she care for. Weaknesses: Relatively poor with flowering plants, not altogether interested in "mingling". In life, Eileen was not able to defend herself from her husband due to lingering loyalty despite the state of their marriage. Afterlife Details Home: Small house, outskirts of the countryside. A large willow tree covers most of the house from those looking at the house from the village. Occupation: Unemployed, but she can sew should the service be required.
